One of the management resources that I pay attention to on a regular basis is the Manager Tools podcast. While they sometimes spend a lot of time on issues that I think of as trivial (e.g., a 50 minute podcast on how to shake hands), They have a lot of good stuff to say about management fundamentals that actually lines up with what we do at work.
The manager tools guys are big proponents of the DISC behavioral profile tool. Today I finally took the DISC assessment. I’m still reading through the results but overall I am a high “C.”
I’m a strong believer in the benefits of MBTI and relatively new to DISC. I’ll have to delve more into it to see if I can see a strong benefit to this model over and above its simplicity.
