The Association for Software Testing’s Mission is to advance the understanding of the science and practice of software testing according to Context-Driven principles.

For certain issues in software testing as a field, discipline, activity, occupation, and industry, AST has arrived at a position. These positions reflect what we understand our particular community and membership thinks about these issues, but may more closely reflect the positions of the most active AST Members. We don’t expect all AST Members see these issues the same way; some of us may feel very differently about them.

We will also disagree on some of these issues with colleagues outside of AST that we respect. We welcome and encourage debate, and believe software testing benefits when we discuss what we think and why. As we share ideas and compare experiences, we learn more about how to evaluate practices and their suitability for particular contexts.

We welcome public and private discussions about any and all matters relating to testing. Let us know what you think.
